Gemma Baker is a Poet, Publisher, Editor, and Creative Producer based in Lincoln, UK.
Her work centers around the idea that creativity can build community and also positively affect our mental and physical wellbeing. Through events, publications, and organisations Gemma provides platforms for creatives to connect and share their work.
Previous projects include Women in the Arts (WITA), The Word Theatre, The Point Creative Hub & Shop, The ATG Slam, Word of Mouth, and Mouth Piece Poets.
Her poetry conveys universal themes in an accessible style, with honesty and humour. Published work includes ‘The Angel in Yellow Wellies’, ‘The Falling Architecture of Reality’, and ‘No Word Left Unspoken’.
Gemma has also been published in various Anthologies and publications, and has been commissioned by the BBC for two national radio projects.
Her current focus is on:
- Promoting her latest release (The Angel in Yellow Wellies);
- The launch of two new projects: emu (East Midlands Underground) – a digital publication dedicated to promoting under-represented corners of creativity in the East Midlands;
- Baker Publishing – helping writers to publish their work.
