About me and my work:
I am a professional pet portrait Artist living in the Lincolnshire countryside.
Highly detailed artwork of cats and dogs are my speciality. Portraits are drawings using a variety of high quality graphite and coloured pencils. Portraits are based upon photographs provided by clients. I have been drawing all my life.
In my day entertainment was a piece of scrap paper and a HB pencil – no gadgets like you see children with today. I always yearned to do something arty. Working in the marketing and desktop publishing sector gave me valuable experience.
A pet portrait is perhaps the most fitting way to celebrate the influence that the special animal in your life has on everything you do. You may wish to have a pet portrait produced as an original piece of art for yourself, or you may prefer to give a portrait as gift to a loved one.
An original piece of art is a highly precious item to own and a timeless reminder of your special pet. My website is designed to help you obtain a wonderful tribute to your pet. Pet portraits are my particular speciality and you can find an assortment of dog and cat portraits in my portfolio.
For graphite portraits I always use the trusted brand of Derwent. Their Graphite and Onyx series of pencils are in my opinion the best on the market today.
For coloured pencil work I use mainly Faber-Castell Polychromo range of oil based pencils. I also incorporate Caran D’Ache Luminence and Derwent Coloursoft into my portraits. The coloured pencils are blended with a liquid solvent. This is called Zest-it.
All portraits are drawn on Daler-Rowney Graphic Series Smooth Bristol Board 250g/ms.
