Yob Culture

Yob Culture are an original guitar/electronic pop/punk act, and were formed in 1996 by Keyboard player/programmer Dale Simpson (left) and vocalist Jack Shinman. They released a self titled album and the songs formed a social commentary of the time. They played a handful of local gigs but disbanded in the year 2000 after Jack decided to concentrate on other pursuits.

Simpson continued to release occasional tracks, and remained involved in music by playing keyboards and guitar in local original bands including Sevenday Weekend, The Cinderpip Society, The Warbirds and The Number 9’s (who still continue to perform locally on a regular basis).

Dale Simpson decided to fully resurrect Yob Culture in 2016, but this time as a solo project, reworking and releasing “Promise”, the first track from the original 1996 album. This was picked up by BBC Introducing in Lincolnshire and played on the radio show where it was well received. Yob Culture were played regularly on the BBC Introducing show after further releases.

The band are in talks with several independent record labels regarding the release of a second album mid 2018, and are planning live performances to coincide.
